The concept to start a website exclusively for vintage Telugu movie songs, folk songs and non-film songs belongs to SrInivAs paruchUri. This page is provided by SrInivAsa rAvu Sanagavarapu . Sreenadh Jonnavittula maintains this site. We plan to post songs from the early days of telugu movies to the mid-sixties. Your suggestions are always welcome. All songs are in the MP3 format and sound best with the Windows Media Player. Other players may pickup noise. There is no streaming associated. If you are using a telephone modem, the playback may be intermittent. Listen to Telugu Taramgini (movie songs classics to contemporaries) every Sunday on www.dhoomfm.com between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM US Eastern Time (GMT -4). For old Hindi songs visit www.indianscreen.com Highlighted song sequence numbers identify new additions during recent updates.
Finally there is a site for the lover of old Telugu songs. The movie title, name of the singer, song title and other credits are in the Latin alphabet. Short vowels are in lower case. Long vowels are capitalized. "R" is used as a vowel as in "Rshi" and "kRshNa". As such, the telugu vowels are "a A i I u U R (long omitted) e E ai o O ou M (visarga omitted)". Lower case letters are used for most consonants. However, the lower case "t" and "d" are used for softer sounding consonants and "T" and "D" are used for harsher sounding consonants. "N" is used for sounds such as in "rANi". We do not intend to use what is called in telugu as "sakata rephamu". Instead of using "zh" as in "tamizh", we are using "L". Lower case "z" is used for such words as "zamIMdAru". As such, the telugu consonants are k kh g gh ng; ch chh j jh nj; T Th D Dh N; t th d dh n; p ph b bh m y r l L v S sh s h ksh tr jn You will get used to them. When we are not sure, we used "?" for credits . If you happen to know the proper credit, please advise us.
